Thank you, thank you, thank you!

This entry is long overdue. We have been so moved by your generosity and kindness. As we reach the two month point, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank our family and friends for the tremendous support and encouragement that you have shown us over the last few months. This journey has been so much more rich since you've come alongside us. We can't thank you enough for the visits, warm meals, cards, gifts, and phone calls. We truly feel blessed to be surrounded by such a great support network. Enjoy some photos from the last two months...

I thank my God every time I remember you. --Phillipians 1:3

Visit from Nana and Pops

Last weekend, we enjoyed a nice visit from Nana and Pops. My mom stocked our kitchen cupboards and freezer as she always does. Having prepared meals during these early weeks is such a blessing.

One of the highlights of our weekend was our trip to J. Christopher's for brunch. This was John Parker's first official outing to a restaurant. He slept like a champ through all the clanging plates and loud commotion. John Parker loved all the cuddle time that he had with his Nana and Pops. Even Duke felt loved with plenty of long walks with his Pops. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Weight Gain Wonder

As a new mother, I've found myself intently focused on watching my son pack on the pounds. It's as if each ounce should be celebrated because he is healthy and growing. Each time he gets weighed I find myself on pins and needles as I await the results. Last Wednesday, our little guy weighed in at 9 lbs and 11 oz. I've been marvelling at his chubby cheeks and at the rolls on his thighs. These are the things that every parent loves, aren't they? Wouldn't we all love it if people cheered and celebrated when we gained a pound? Oh, to be a baby again! :)

Celebrating the Fourth

The summer months are full of fun holidays and I can honestly say that the Fourth of July is one of my favorites! We celebrated the Fourth with John's family. John Parker met his cousins, Christina and Stephen, for the first time and enjoyed some great cuddle time with his Aunt Susan and Grandma and Grandpa. He wore shorts for the first time and sported some adorable blue shoes. Check out how patriotic he is at such an early age.

I sadly missed seeing fireworks this year as I slept straight through the festivities. I think I get a pass this time due to sleep deprivation and not wanting to hurt John Parker's poor little ears.
