John Parker's Dedication

On May 15th, we celebrated a very special day. John and I were able to publicly dedicate our son before family and friends at Buckhead Church. It is our prayer that he begins to walk with the Lord at a very young age. John and I were challenged to really flesh out what values and habits are important to us as a family. We're reminded that it's not just about nice pretty ideas packaged with a bow, but more about living out those values in our own personal lives. Just as John Parker imitates our actions, so he will be watching how we respond to others and what drives us as adults. We were so grateful to be surrounded by parents that know and love the Lord and friends that can come alongside us on this journey of parenting. A special thank you to our parents, Jaillene and James, and Anthony and Amanda for being a part of that day.

An Unorthodox Bath

Disclaimer: If you are germophopic, you may not want to read this post! :)

Since John Parker has become more mobile, his fascination with Duke has grown. He will crawl about anywhere to be close to his buddy. Duke on the other hand doesn't know how to take this new found attention. Honestly, he's a bit intimidated. Any time JP's arms come close, he starts licking and doesn't stop. It's hilarious. John Parker starts batting at him to try to stop him. John and I have gotten a good laugh over the last few weeks as Duke has given John Parker many a bath by licking him to death.

7 Month Old Video Highlights

No Better Feeling

I have to say, I'm a huge fan of Mother's Day. It's an awesome priviledge to be able to invest and shape another person's life with the Lord's help. I definitely have a greater appreciation for the sacrifice that moms make each and every day for their children. Thank you, thank you, Mom!

On Mother's Day, my sweet little eleven month old gave me the sweetest card with a little help from his daddy. It had me in tears and laughing all at the same time. I couldn't have asked for anything more--being a mommy is such a blessing!
